New Hope Community Services Society began in 2004 with the purpose of assisting newcomer refugees. It has always been our mission to see these individuals become integrated, independent and productive members of Canadian society. We do this through housing in conjunction with social, personal, spiritual, educational and vocational support.
We’ve always believed that the best way to enhance the lives of refugees and immigrants is through practical, strategic, and loving action within the community.
Our Community
Not all who arrive in Canada are able to seamlessly integrate into society. Social connections are often lost, personal problems overwhelm, families are fragmented, and employability is difficult. Life without housing, family support, employment, community, and the church can become a life of chaos and crisis.
Thankfully, New Hope residents are able to get back on their feet and thrive in a supportive community. We’re convinced that’s why they love their garden so much. It’s small but lush. It takes work, but it’s so worth it. Good and tasty vegetables and fruit grow from soil that is tended to! In our New Hope community, residents flourish and start to recover while pursuing language, skills training, education, and employment opportunities. Through serving this small community, 16 years and 800 residents later, we’ve seen lives changed and hope renewed.
With help from our partners and generous supporters, it is our joy, commitment, and passion to provide safe, affordable housing and support for refugees and Canadian immigrants.
