There are a number of ways you can get involved to support New Hope. Your generous contribution helps create a brighter future for those in need.
Volunteer
Become the heart of our organization. Join our group of committed, loving volunteers who help us with ESL classes, tutoring, children’s activities, movie nights, janitorial duties, and more.
Every second Thursday, we invite our residents to dine together. Volunteers from local churches and community groups provide the meal. If you would be interested in sponsoring an upcoming dinner, please contact us for more information.
Support a Family with your Church
Many refugee families who reside at New Hope have a church family to support them. The support church team invests 6-10 hours per week to help the refugee family find life in Canada. This includes helping with shopping, medical care, transit, schooling for children, accessing libraries, public parks and recreation centres, and relationship building.
If your church wishes to take action and change a family’s life, please contact us at info@newhopecs.org.
Host a Fundraiser
Help us in raising funds for refugees. Transform lives by hosting your own fundraising campaign. Visit our Fundraising page for ideas or contact info@newhopecs.org for more information.
Become a Corporate Sponsor
The corporate world understands the need to give back. Many already do. In addition to our corporate sponsorships with Vancity and Starbucks, we’re looking for other generous businesses to take up the challenge.
A corporate sponsor invests in families at New Hope with an annual donation of $3,200 or more. These funds help provide safe, stable housing for a vulnerable family who needs some help getting on their feet.
Our residents will also eventually be seeking employment as they get established in Canada. If you would be interested in providing employment opportunities for a refugee, please contact us.
Please note that due to safety regulations, we require a background check on our regular volunteers. Individuals under 18 must be accompanied by an adult. Thank you for your understanding.
