Every second Thursday, we invite our residents to dine together. Volunteers from local churches provide the meal. If you would be interested in sponsoring an upcoming dinner, please contact us for more information.
Every refugee family who resides at New Hope has a church family to support them. The support church has a team who invest 6-10 hours per week to help the refugee family find life in Canada. Included in the tasks are learning about matters like—shopping, medical care, buses, schools for children, libraries, public parks and rec centres, picnics, and relationship building.
Would your church want to be a support team to a family in their first year in Canada? It’s rich.
Sponsor a Family
We rely heavily on churches in our community to sponsor refugee families that come to New Hope. If your church wishes to take action and change a family’s life, please contact us today at email@example.com.
The corporate world understands the need to give back. Many already do. With corporate sponsorships with Vancity and Starbucks, we’re looking for other generous businesses to take up the challenge.
A corporate sponsor invests in families at New Hope with an annual donation of $3,200 or more. These funds help provide safe, stable housing for a vulnerable family who has come to Canada with nothing and who needs some help getting on their feet.
Our residents will also eventually be seeking employment as they get established in Canada. If you would be interested in providing employment opportunities for a refugee, please contact us.
Host a Fundraiser
Help us in raising funds for refugees. Transform lives with us, by hosting your own fundraising campaign. Visit our Fundraising page for ideas or contact firstname.lastname@example.org for more information.
New Hope has had the pleasure of hosting field trips for several schools in the Lower Mainland who want to learn first-hand about what it means to be a refugee and the importance of helping those less fortunate than ourselves. Our staff has also had the opportunity to visit local classrooms to present a workshop on refugee life.
If your school would be interested in this one-of-a-kind learning opportunity, please contact us; we can provide you with a workshop tailored to your needs.
