How You Can Help

Help a refugee and make a difference.

There are a number of ways you can get involved and support New Hope. Your generous contribution helps create a brighter future for those in need.

Volunteer

Become the  heart of our organization. Join our group of committed, loving volunteers who help us with ESL classes, tutoring, children’s activities, movie nights, janitorial duties, and more.

Get in touch to our Director of Programs Mindy at mindy@newhopecs.org.

Host a Community Meal

Every second Thursday, we invite our residents to dine together. Volunteers from local churches and community groups provide the meal and eat with us. If you would be interested in sponsoring an upcoming dinner, please contact us for more information.

Support a Family with your Church

Many refugee families who reside at New Hope have a church or community group to support them. Typically, a support team invests 6-10 hours per month to help the refugee family find life in Canada. This includes helping with shopping, medical care, transit, schooling for children, accessing libraries, public parks and recreation centres, and relationship building.

If your church wishes to take action and change a family’s life, please contact us at info@newhopecs.org.

Join “Hope in Motion”

Every September we host a walking/cycling fundraising event called Hope in Motion. Learn more on our event page.

Become a Corporate Partner

The corporate world understands the need to give back. Many already do. In addition to our current corporate partners, we’re looking for other generous businesses to take up the challenge.

A corporate partner invests in families at New Hope with an annual donation of $3,200 or more. These funds help provide safe, stable housing for a vulnerable family who needs some help getting on their feet.

Our residents will also eventually be seeking employment as they get established in Canada. If you would be interested in providing employment opportunities for a refugee, please contact us.

Please note that due to safety regulations, we require a background check on our regular volunteers. Individuals under 18 must be accompanied by an adult. Thank you for your understanding.
